About Humboldt Experience Farmstay

We’re a small homestead, tended by hand and guided by the seasons. What began as a desire for a more intentional way of living has grown into a place we’re grateful to share.

Garden at Humboldt Experience Farmstay

Our Story

Tucked into the forests of Humboldt County, the farm is shaped by gardening, animal care, natural building, and the everyday work of living close to the land.

Permaculture is part of how we think about life on the farm: working with natural systems, caring for the soil, growing food, reducing waste, and finding practical ways for people and the land to support one another.

The farm is always evolving. Gardens change with the seasons, projects take shape as needs arise, and much of daily life revolves around caring for the land and the systems that make life here possible.

The off-grid cabins create room for others to slow down, reconnect with nature, get some writing done, and experience a quieter rhythm of rural life. Many people, including the owner, enjoy using this place as a digital detox. If you are interested, reach out with a text at (707) 572-8200.

Permaculture

We grow food, tend animals, and care for the land by working with natural systems and seasonal rhythms.

Off-Grid Living

The hand-built, tiny cabins are intentionally simple, with shared amenities, such as a sauna, bathhouse, and outdoor farm kitchen.

A Slower Pace

Affords time to rest, relax, meditate, journal, write, create, explore, and be.

Close to Nature

Forest, river, gardens, and wildlife are woven into life on the farm. Just a few miles from the ancient redwood groves at Swimmer's Delight and Grizzly Creek.

The Land

The farm sits among forest, gardens, and rural open space, with the Van Duzen River and a swimming hole within walking distance. Walk down to the river for a swim, spend time in the gardens, explore the surrounding forest, or simply settle into the slower pace of life on the farm.
